By the time you read this the pool will be open; just about one month earlier than in years past. And we have implemented longer pool hours, so we can all enjoy this warmer weather for extended times each day.
Of course, there is just one hitch to be aware of and that is if you are not current on your assessments, your pool access card has been deactivated and you will not be able to use the pool until your account is current.
By the way, the pool is for use by Saddle Cub residents and their guests. Please do not loan your pool access card to anyone.
A few items of interest:
1. The landscaping including the flower beds in the front entrance is in a redesign stage. I have seen the initial plans and it looks wonderful. Please be patient and you’ll be rewarded with what I will consider the most attractive main community entrance regardless of level of community.
2. Mark your calendar to attend the Spring Fling on Saturday, May 12th from 1-4 pm. It will be at the pool and sort of celebrates the official start of our pool season.
3. On May 15th, the Crime watch Committee will be hosting a meeting with a member of the McKinney police department. Officer Haak will explain the purpose and value of having a crime watch committee in place and how we can make it work to continue to keep Saddle Club virtually crime free. Look for more details on the website.
4. I continue to see improvement in eliminating animal waste from lawns and common areas. Thanks to all who are doing their part. There remains however, some among us who still don’t get it (and you know who you are). Let me remind those of you who insist on being rude in this that it is against The City of McKinney standards and laws as follows:
a. “ It shall be unlawful for an owner or person in control of an animal to fail to keep the animal under restraint”;
b. “ It shall be unlawful for an owner to fail or refuse to control, restrain, or otherwise allow, either by conduct, omission, or condition of premises, his or her animal to become a public nuisance by being at large or running at large.”
c. “the keeping of any animal or bird in a manner that permits, allows, constitutes, or causes a public nuisance under this chapter shall be unlawful.”
d. “Remove all refuse, as defined in … the city code, on the premises and dispose of same by a means approved by the animal control department.”
..…” failure or refusal to comply with the enforcement of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00 for each violation. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.”
Speaking on behalf of the board, we truly welcome the opportunity to serve as your representatives in creating within Saddle Club the type of community that we are all proud to live in.
As always, feel free to contact us with your issues or complaints and we will do our best to resolve them. Of course, we’ll take your kudos as well. :)
That’s all, folks ~ Barry
